The Ukrainian correspondent of Die Tageszeitung, Anastasia Magazova, received a Canon R10 camera, memory cards and a sleeping bag from the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU). The journalist has been working as a correspondent for one of the largest newspapers in Germany for ten years. A week ago, she returned from a two-month trip along the front line, where she brought material covering military topics from.
“I work together with my husband. He takes photos, and I write texts. My main specialty is reporting, in which I balance my attention between civilians and military,” said the journalist.
Anastasia admitted that she was receiving such help for the first time.
“I am happy that I have the opportunity to fight against the Russian information influx in Germany,” she says.
“Thanks to Anastasia, Ukraine and the work of Ukrainian journalists remain in the focus of attention of the Western media. Our response to Russian propaganda worldwide is busy work for an international audience. We hope that this help will be useful for Anastasia and Ukraine as a whole,” said First Secretary of the NUJU Lina Kushch, handing the camera over to Anastasia.
Technical support for journalists is possible thanks to the close cooperation of the NUJU and the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany in partnership with the Academy of the Ukrainian Press.
