The Chernivtsi Journalist Solidarity Center of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) has received a new generator as a gift from UNESCO.
Now, in the event of a power outage, journalists will be able to charge their gadgets, use the Internet, or simply drink hot coffee and chat with colleagues in a comfortable environment.
“Independence is very important for a journalist. And now, we will be independent, including from problems with electricity supplies, which have become systematic and long-lasting. We thank the NUJU and international partners who helped us in this difficult time,” says Anatolii Isak, a board member of the Chernivtsi organization of the NUJU.
As earlier reported, the Journalist Solidarity Centers are an initiative of the NUJU, which is implemented with the support of the International and European Federations of Journalists, as well as UNESCO. These centers are designed to help media representatives working in Ukraine during the war. The centers operate in Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro and provide journalists with organizational, technical, legal, psychological, and other types of assistance.
