Ukrainian Radio Liberty Service journalist Mariyan Kushnir regularly shoots footage in the war zone. However, he began to do this long before the start of a full-scale war – in 2015.
His interview was published on the website PMG.ua as part of the project called Journalists are Important! initiated by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
? When asked by journalists about his own safety, he answers: “With practice comes an understanding of where it is safe and where it is not.” In addition, there are always skills – how to behave on the battlefield and this allows you to be where, as a rule, it is extremely dangerous.”
In speaking of the most dangerous situations, he says: there have been many of them, so through the prism of time it always seems that nothing dangerous happened.
“Probably, the most dangerous would be a decision and an action that would lead to death. This has not happened so far. The war continues,” the journalist noted.
