The 8-year-old son of Olha Hodovenko, a journalist from Odesa / head of Yuzhne town TV Studio Myg, and of fallen soldier Stanislav Hodovenko, received a tablet as a New Year’s gift from the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
Yurii Rabotin, the head of the Odesa regional organization of the NUJU, handed over the gift to Olha Volodymyrivna.
“The NUJU sincerely sympathizes with the terrible loss that befell the family. Eternal and bright memory to Stanislav Hodovenko and all Ukrainian heroes who were killed at the front defending the Motherland! Stanislav is survived by his wife, our colleague Olha, and two children – 18-year-old Oksana and 8-year-old Bohdan… We hope that the tablet will help Bohdan in his school studies,” says Sergiy Tomilenko, the President of the NUJU.
50-year-old Stanislav worked in the railway workshop of the Odesa Port Plant from 1994 until he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the enterprise, they speak of him as a kind, hardworking man, a mentor to young workers… The commander of the rifle division, Chief Sergeant Stanislav Hodovenko, was killed on December 9 while performing a combat mission near Ozarianivka, Bakhmut District.
On the eve of the New Year’s Day, the NUJU received five SmartPad iyo 10 tablets from the Ukrainian Soul Charitable Foundation together with the Revival of the Buchan District and the Lombardy Journalists’ Union (Milan, Italy). In accordance with the decision adopted by the NUJU Secretariat, they were distributed for further delivery through NUJU activists of the NSHU in Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Zakarpattia, and Odesa Regions.
