The editorial office of the Chernihiv publication VisnykСh was able to continue its work, partially compensate printing services it obtained, and timely pay salaries thanks to the participation in creative projects initiated by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) with the support of the Ukrainian Media Fund and the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation, says Chief Editor of the newspaper Serhii Narodenko.
Grant support from international partners of the NUJU, which the publication received as one of the best participants in the projects, helped survive in the most difficult times.
“Thank you for such projects as We are from Ukraine! and Journalists are Important!. Together with our colleagues, we tell the truth about the struggle of the Ukrainian people and the crimes of the Russian aggressors. The Chernihiv Region has withstood, and the world should know about it,” adds Serhii Narodenko.

The Ukrainian Media Fund initiative was launched by the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation together with partner organizations of media companies in the Scandinavian countries. The fund was established as a sign of solidarity with journalists and photographers who daily report from the frontline in Ukraine. Its main goal is to mobilize international support – both financial and material – for local mass media in Ukraine. Thus, through the Ukrainian Media Fund, protective equipment and equipment for work were transferred to Ukrainian journalists. The aid includes laptops, power banks, photo and video cameras, tripods, and smartphones.
